LANGUAGE ARTS - Story time, show and tell, bulletin board discussions, dramatic play, puppetry, individual reading readiness centers, letter games, position phrase games, learning about opposites, classification and rhyming words, writing class stories, listening games.
SCIENCE - Simple experiments in the subject of air, magnification, water, plants, magnetism, chemical reactions, ecology.
MATHEMATICS - Counting, individual math readiness centers, time, measurement, size, shape, comparisons of sets, cooking.
CREATIVE ARTS - Group singing to piano accompaniment, rhythm band, singing games, movement songs and records, experimentation with many different art media, role playing, wood working. Music and dance classes are provided at no cost to parents.
PHYSICAL FITNESS - Gymnastics, movement exploration, games, exercises, indoor and outdoor play, balance beam, parachute games, ball and hoop activities, and small muscle activities like cutting, pasting, name writing and manipulative toys.
SOCIAL STUDIES - Bulletin board discussions, story time, field trips, guest speakers, films relating to our themes each week. Sample themes are the seasons, our family and homes, community helpers, nutrition and good hygiene, holidays around the world, street and drug safety, marine life, our five senses.
COMPUTER EDUCATION - Positive introduction to computer using many “award winning” preschool programs in our computer lab.
SOCIAL GROWTH - Exploration of new relationships, develop feelings of security and self-worth, become more self-directed, develop the ability to take turns, share, and respect the rights of others. Each child is viewed as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth. Children are allowed to move at their own pace in acquiring important skills in all areas. The curriculum is integrated so that learning occurs primarily through projects, learning games, and activities which are appropriate to the developmental levels of the children.
